Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before placing an order. By accepting a quote from Save Me Some Cake, you agree to the following terms.
Order Confirmation
The quote is valid for 3 days from the date of issue.
To secure a booking, written acceptance via email to enquiries@savemesomecake.com.au and payment of a 50% deposit of the total amount is required at the time of confirmation. A remittance for the deposit amount must be provided with the confirmation email. If the deposit is not received, the date will not be held and the order will not proceed.
Final payment is due 14 days prior to the date the cake is required. If the balance is not received by the due date, the order will be cancelled without notice and the deposit will not be refunded.
For orders placed with less than 14 days' notice, written acceptance via email and payment in full will be required. A copy of the remittance must be provided as proof of payment. If payment in full is not received, the date will not be held and the order will not proceed.
Due to limited availability, the requested date will be released if no response is received after the quote expires.
Dates on Hold
A holding fee of $50 will be charged where dates are held for advanced bookings of six months or more. Should the held date result in a confirmed order, the fee will be deducted from the total invoice. In the event of a cancellation, the fee will be refunded if written notice is provided four weeks prior to the due date — otherwise the fee will be forfeited.
Cancellation Policy
All requests for cancellation must be made in writing.
- More than 4 weeks prior to the confirmed date: The full deposit will be refunded, or a credit for the same design and size of cake may be carried over to a new date as agreed in writing.
- Less than one month prior to the confirmed date: The deposit will be refunded, less the cost of any items already purchased for the order.
- Within 14 days of the order date: The deposit paid will be forfeited.
- Within 7 days of the order date, once production has commenced: Full payment of the invoice as agreed will be required. The order may be able to be frozen for a later date — please contact Save Me Some Cake to discuss storage options.
Where payments are carried over as credit to a date to be confirmed within six months of the original date, any changes to the original order will incur additional charges. Date changes must be submitted in writing and the new date is subject to availability.
Very rarely, we may need to cancel your order due to illness, injury or unforeseen circumstances. In this instance, you will be notified immediately, a full refund will be provided, and we will do our best to help you find an alternate business to fulfil your order.
Payment
The preferred method of payment is via Direct Deposit. EFTPOS facilities are not available and cheque payments are not accepted.
Direct deposit details, including bank name, BSB and account number, will be provided on your invoice. Please use your invoice surname as the payment reference.
Design and Flavour Changes
Each cake is handmade and while every effort will be made to replicate a particular design, there will be slight variances so as not to copy the original cake artist's work. The final product will not be identical to a reference image.
While all care is taken to complete your order as specified, factors including — but not limited to — weather and the supply of ingredients and products may result in design changes, which are at the discretion of Save Me Some Cake.
- Minor changes to the design will be accepted after a deposit is received and up to 4 weeks prior to your event.
- Major changes are subject to agreement and dependent on a quote review, where additional charges may be incurred.
Any errors, corrections or updates to your order must be submitted in writing. Your amended order will then be reissued. In the event that an agreement cannot be reached on changes to the revised quote, the normal cancellation procedure applies.
Administration Fee
Save Me Some Cake aims to provide a high level of service and quality. When responding to multiple design changes and an excessive number of calls and emails, there is less time available to spend on your product. In this case, an administration fee may be charged.
Supplying Your Own Decorations and Flowers
If you choose to supply your own ribbons or food-safe decorations, they must be suitable for your cake — correct ribbon thickness, length and fabric; ability to be attached; correct supports, and so on.
All decorations supplied by you must be food safe and able to be easily attached to your cake. Save Me Some Cake reserves the right to refuse any decorations deemed unsuitable or that do not meet hygiene and food safety requirements.
All items supplied for your cake must be clearly marked with your name, date and event.
You are welcome to supply your own fresh flowers on the condition that they are non-toxic, individually wired and taped, pre-clustered or arranged in a previously agreed fashion. Save Me Some Cake reserves the right to refuse any flowers that do not meet food safety standards and will not place them on your cake.
Save Me Some Cake reserves the right to refuse florists, family or friends of the client to place flowers on the cake. Final dressing of the cake on site at the venue will be carried out by Save Me Some Cake.
Save Me Some Cake takes no responsibility for incorrect quantity, size or type of floral decorations provided by you or your florist, or for any damage to the final product arising from customer-supplied products.
Allergies
Customers with severe allergy requirements need to be aware that while Save Me Some Cake follows best practice for safe sourcing, preparation and service of ingredients to eliminate and manage the risk of cross-contamination, our kitchen still handles other ingredients and may contain traces of dairy, wheat, nuts, soy, eggs and other allergens.
It is the responsibility of the customer to advise of any allergies for consideration in the preparation of the cake and edible decorations. Save Me Some Cake will not be held responsible for any allergic reactions experienced by you or your guests. It is the customer's responsibility to inform guests of any risks.
Delivery and Set Up
Set up and delivery is only available for wedding cakes. Requests for delivery will be considered but may be refused due to availability. Delivery charges may vary according to distance and the location of the venue.
Easy access to the venue must be available, including carpark access and access to the function room. The cake table must be level, stable, clothed and ready for cake placement. The room should be a suitable temperature — an air-conditioned room is best.
If you or your representative elects to collect and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the handling of the cake once it leaves the premises of Save Me Some Cake. Cakes transported by you are done so at your own risk.
Collection of Your Order
Collection is available on the agreed date between 9:00am and 11:00am, unless alternate arrangements have been agreed to prior to the date.
When collecting, please ensure your vehicle has sufficient space, a flat surface for the box to rest on, and air conditioning running on warm days. Go directly to your venue and refrigerate the cake upon arrival — please avoid unnecessary stops to maintain the integrity of your order during transport.
A Care Card and Serving Guide will be provided upon collection. Save Me Some Cake is not responsible for any damage made to your order after delivery or collection is complete.
Non-collection of an order after the agreed time may result in a $70 late fee.
Where delivery is required, it will be made to the agreed venue at an agreed time. Please provide the exact details of the venue, including address, venue contact name and phone number.
Storage
Cakes covered and/or decorated in fondant, or featuring sugar paste figurines or decorations, should not be refrigerated as condensation may cause colours to run. Store these cakes in a cool, dry, dark place — away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Cakes covered with buttercream should be kept refrigerated and brought to room temperature two hours prior to serving.
Save Me Some Cake cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake or products once they are delivered and in the care of the client or venue.
Feedback
Save Me Some Cake values its customers and welcomes feedback. Should you ever be dissatisfied with your order or notice an error, please contact us immediately by telephone (not by SMS or text) to discuss your concerns.
Requests for a refund or credit must be made in writing via email to enquiries@savemesomecake.com.au within 24 hours of collecting the cake. Dissatisfaction with product quality will require the uneaten item to be returned within 24 hours of collection.
Save Me Some Cake reserves the right to refuse requests for refund for change-of-mind purchases. Refunds and credit requests will be made at the discretion of Save Me Some Cake.
Photo Usage
Save Me Some Cake reserves the right to use photos taken of your creation for social media, website promotions and advertising in any other media, including Instagram and Facebook.
